Dear FDSB patients:

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: Our commitment to your oral care and safety.

Our office will be reopening slowly for routine dental care. We have made changes and implemented additional safety measures to follow the guidelines set forth by the American Dental Association (ADA), the CDC, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We will continue to follow these agencies for any up-to-date guidance that may be issued.

As you plan for your visit, please make note of the following to ensure everyone’s care and safety:

  • Patients will be asked to wait in their car where they can be contacted by mobile phone    when it is their turn for dental care.

  • We ask that only patients come in for their appointment. If a parent would like to escort their child, only one parent will be allowed.

  • Patients, and anyone accompanying them, must wear a face mask when entering the office.

  • A screening will be performed upon entry that will consist of taking the patient's temperature and answering a few health-related questions.

  • Waiting room chairs are placed at least six feet apart.

  • We ask patients to use provided hand sanitizers upon entry.

  • Sneeze guard has been installed at the front desk counter.

  • Medical grade air purifier systems have been placed throughout the office.

  • Enhanced PPEs will be worn by providers while treating patients.

We look forward to welcoming you back. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep everyone safe in our practice.

Sincerely,

Dr. Yang and staff

March 21, 2020

Dear FDSB patients:

The ADA has updated its recommendation:

ADA Calls Upon Dentists to Postpone Elective Procedures

"In order for dentistry to do its part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the ADA recommends dentists nationwide postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to care for our emergency patient."

We will be closing our office for routine dental care effective immediately. All scheduled appointments will be cancelled for at lease the next 3 weeks. Our staff will contact you to reschedule your appointment. Dr. Yang will be available to manage any dental emergency that may arise. Please call 732-329-8844 to leave a detailed message and Dr. Yang will respond ASAP.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Please stay well and healthy.

Sincerely,

Ling Yang, DMD

March 13, 2020

Dear FDSB patients:

Our office is taking steps to protect both our patients and staff from the COVID-19 outbreak in our community. As dental professionals, we have always practiced universal precautions set forth by the CDC in order to keep our patients safe from infection. The true impact of a COVID-19 outbreak cannot be predicted. We are doing our part to help slow disease transmission and reduce the number of people who get sick.

It is important for us to continue to provide the appropriate level of dental care for our patients in a safe manner. We are closely monitoring the CDC recommendations for preventing the spread of COVID-19, as well as the guidelines from the ADA (American Dental Association), and the NJ State Dental Board. We will provide updates about changes to our policies regarding appointments via email and postings on our website.

Our patient policies will be as follows until further notice:

  • We are screening patients before their appointment. If you, or a family member, are experiencing a cough, a fever, shortness of breath, or fatigue, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment. We also advise rescheduling if you, or anyone in your home had a recent history of international travel or travel to areas with community spread of COVID-19.

  • We are eliminating patient penalties for appointment cancellations during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. You can postpone your appointment until this uncertain time has passed as well.

  • Patients should arrive on-time for their appointments, rather than early, to minimize the amount of time spent in the reception area. Seating has been rearranged to provide appropriate social distancing and there will be no magazines in the reception area at this time.
  •  Sanitizer has been placed in the waiting room for patients to use upon arrival.
  •  We will take patient's temperature as part of routine medical assessment prior to dental treatment.

  • We will close the playroom and remove all toys as well as our treasure boxes. Toys for children will be given by a staff member.

  • In addition to the above policy changes and standard precaution procedures, we will also be disinfecting common use areas such as reception and bathrooms, as well as light switches, doorknobs, etc. at least twice daily.

Thank you for your support of our practice over the years and for your cooperation during this time of COVID-19. We will get through this together. Please stay well.

Sincerely,

Ling Yang, DMD
